mah-tee — मिट्टी — earth

Maati originates from the Hindi word mitti, or earth. It is Mother Earth herself — a home that births, nourishes, and quietly becomes a part of who we are.

House of Maati is an ode to our mother earth — to India, and to the homes we grew up in. Homes where things were collected over time, made slowly and imperfectly by human hands into objects of beauty. Homes filled not with mass-produced, off-the-shelf things, but with treasures created by generations of artisans carrying knowledge and tradition forward.

Maati is a celebration of homes filled slowly, with character, soul and stories.

Rooted. Timeless. Alive.

A legacy forward

More than nostalgia.More than looking back.We are a movement forward.

We are a celebration of India's extraordinary legacy of art, design and craftsmanship, shaped by generations of makers, regions and traditions, yet continually evolving today.

Indian craftsmanship deserves to be seen not simply as a reflection of the past, but as an enduring and evolving part of global design.

This is our way of carrying it forward; giving Indian craftsmanship a place in the homes and conversations of the world.
